Dear Friends

The great Feast of Transfiguration is upon us and I look forward to seeing you all there! Our Holy Orthodox Church has many services throughout the year and the 12 great feasts are the most special and holy of services.

We have the great joy, honor, and privilege of celebrating the feast and receiving God’s abundant grace from on high during these services.

We will celebrate Festal Vigil tonight Friday 8-5-16 at 6pm and Festal Liturgy Saturday 8-6-16 at 9am at St John’s.

We come to these services out of our love for our Lord Jesus Christ who loved us first. (1Jo 4:19)

The divine services are the place where heaven meets earth, where Christ is present amidst his people, and where we are literally transfigured ….”[2Co 3:18 KJV] 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord. ”

This year the Blessing of Grapes and Fruit will take place after the Festal Divine Liturgy on Saturday. “The blessing of grapes, as well as other fruits and vegetables on this day is the most beautiful and adequate sign of the final transfiguration of all things in Christ. It signifies the ultimate flowering and fruitfulness of all creation in the paradise of God’s unending Kingdom of Life where all will he transformed by the glory of the Lord.” Learn More

*Please bring fruit as a first offering to be blessed by God and to shared with the faithful.

With joy in our Lord,
